You’re Exactly Where You’re Supposed To Be

You might think an emperor of Rome would have an easy going, non eventful life. This couldn’t be further from the truth. For years, Marcus Aurelius endured terrible health issues. He had a chronic lung disease, fever, crippling stomach pains and problems sleeping. Also, worst of all, out of Marcus’ thirteen children, he lost nine of them. Nine children!

Keeping in mind the horrendous things Marcus had to endure, in Meditations, he says: ‘What happens to each of us is ordered. It furthers our destiny’. He also goes onto say ‘Whatever happens to you is for the good of the world. That would be enough right there. But if you look closely you’ll generally notice something else as well: whatever happens to a single person is for the good of others’. Imagine; all the pain and incomprehensible things he had to endure, yet, he still knew and believed he was exactly where he was supposed to be, because it was for the good of the world.

We have no idea what life has in store for us or what it is saving us for — it might seriously frustrate you, it may even break your heart. But just remember that whatever is happening to you, whatever you’re going through: You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be, it’s been ordained by nature.

See you next time,

Yours Sincerely,

Tom
