Monthly Review — June
June Review
Hello Friend,
I hope you are well,
Another month, another update.
As I started to write this post, a thought occurred: it’s been nearly a whole year since Jennie and I started our travels. Wow. Time really does fly.
When I look back and reflect on the past twelve months I can’t help but smile. I feel so blessed and grateful to have had the opportunity to have the best twelve months of my life (so far), and been able to share my life experiences and thoughts with you, my beloved reader. Here’s to many more in the future!
So, what’s been going on this month?…
Highlights Of The Month
Jack Whitehall Live
At the back end of June, me, Jennie and Jennie’s little brother, headed into Manchester to watch our first live comedy show: Jack Whitehall, Settle Down. It was hilariously brilliant, we loved every second of it. I’ve always been a big fan of Jack Whitehall, he’s just like a big, mischievous child. I’m glad we managed to get tickets for Jennies little brother, too, because he’s a HUGE Jack Whitehall fan, it was great to share the experience with him.
I’d love to go to another comedy show in the future, no doubt about it.
Road Trippin — Yorkshire Dales Style
With the weather being so gloriously perfect at the start of the month, it would’ve been a shame not to pay a visit to the Yorkshire Dales. One day, Jennie and I decided to take a mini road trip and visit a few places we’ve never visited before: West Burton, Asygarth and Bolton Castle. It’s safe to say we will definitely be visiting them again at some point!
I’ve said it before, even after travelling and visiting so many wonderful places across exotic South East Asia, there’s not many places which beat the Yorkshire Dales!

Goals Update
- Figure out how to work and make money remotely:
No progress here except from persisting.
- Read a book a week:
Weeks so far this year: 25. Books read: 30. Going very well!
- Learn how to play chess properly — Complete
I’m going to class this as a completed goal. I can actually play chess, albeit not fantastically, but I understand the game a hell of a lot far more than what I did 6 months ago. Chess — completed it mate!
- Run a half marathon
Half a marathon… inbound. I’ve signed up to run my first half Marathon on the 16th July a couple of weeks ago. I’m not going to lie, I am slightly terrified but what’s the worse thing what could happen? By hook or by crook I will be crossing that finish line no matter how long it takes. Wish me luck.
Future Plans
For now the plan is to work, work and work. Nothing too exciting in all honesty. Jennie and I have some plans for the distant future but the more crystal clear they become, you’ll be the first to know about them.
See you next time,
Yours Sincerely,
Tom
