Newsletters are great! If you don’t have much time to read (many of us don’t), then newsletters are perfect. They are straight to the point, concise and normally only take a few minutes to read. Luckily for us, there are loads of brilliant newsletters out there.

The following 6 newsletters are my favourites…

Daily Stoic — Ryan Holiday

The Daily Stoic is a free daily email newsletter written by Ryan Holiday. Every day, Ryan sends out a short email under 500 words long which is inspired by some of the great Stoic philosophers: Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus and Seneca. Every email is packed full of wisdom and insights to help you to live a better life.

At the time of writing, the Daily Stoic currently has over 600,000 people subscribed to it. The Daily Stoic email is a fantastic, short read that I look forward to each and every day.

3–2–1 — James Clear

James Clear is the author of the mega best seller, Atomic Habits. He also writes a brilliant weekly newsletter titled 3–2–1. 3–2–1 is published every Thursday to a whopping two million subscribers.

In 3–2–1, you’ll find:

  • 3 ideas from James
  • 2 quotes from others
  • 1 question for you

It’s definitely worth subscribing to 3–2–1, it’s amazing how much wisdom is packed into such a short 2–3 minutes read. I guarantee you’ll enjoy it!

Grin and Bear It — Matthew Dicks

Matthew Dicks is the author of numerous great books, including Someday Is Today and Storyworthy.

Matthew’s daily newsletter is a lot different to the other ones listed in this post. Every day, Matthew inundates us with the happenings of his day to day life. He writes about his personal life as an elementary school teacher, a husband and father to two children, along with any other thoughts and day to day occurrences he feels like sharing.

I love keeping up to date with Matthew’s day to day life, it’s such a light hearted, funny, relatable read. He’s a natural story teller. In fact, he literally is a professional story teller!

SIX at 6 — Billy Oppenheimer

Billy Oppenheimer is a research assistant based in Texas, USA (he’s actually Ryan Holiday’s research assistant). Every Sunday, Billy sends out an email with six different things he’s learnt, found interesting or useful.

I first stumbled across Billy’s newsletter on Ryan’s Instagram story and I’m glad I did. Billy’s a great writer who shares some really interesting and brilliant content.

If he ever decides to write a book, I’ll be one of the first to buy it. Working side by side with one of the best authors out there, who knows, maybe one day he will!

5 Bullet Friday — Tim Ferriss

Every Friday, entrepreneur, investor and author of The 4-hour Workweek, Tim Ferris, releases a newsletter about the five coolest things he’s found throughout the week, from new life hacks he has found, quotes, etc.

His podcast, The Tim Ferris Show, is one of the most popular in the world with more than 900 million downloads. Tim is a very interesting guy to say the least!

Now that I think about it, 5 Bullet Friday was the first email newsletter I ever subscribed to a few years ago and I still read it virtually every week.

3MM — Chris Williamson

3MM (3 minute Monday) is a newsletter written by podcaster and youtuber, Chris Williamson. His podcast, Modern Wisdom, is one of my favourites to listen to, and his newsletter is equally as brilliant. In 3 minute Monday, Chris writes about 3 things he’s learnt during the week, quotes he’s liked, upcoming guests on his podcast as well as some of the thoughts he’s had over the past week.

I’ve followed Chris for quite some time and it’s been great to see him blow up massively over the past couple of years because his content is fantastic and he deserves all the success that comes to him!

It’s also worth mentioning that all these newsletters don’t cost a single penny to subscribe to. You can consume all this great written content for free!

So what are you waiting for? Get yourself subscribed!

See you next time,

Yours Sincerely,

Tom
